Alphabetoween Quilt

This is a pattern for making this Halloween quilt, which contains one block for every letter of the alphabet! Each block is different, and requires your favorite method of appliqué, and fun embroidery to complete. There are full instructions and lots of photos. Make this unique quilt to celebrate Halloween in style!

What you need to know about this project!

Here are the basics of this quilt: The finished size, with borders, is 60.5" by 71". There are 26 alphabet blocks of varying sizes, and some in-between blocks that you can customize according to your likes and what your stash has to offer. It is not necessary to have a huge array of Halloween fabrics, but you will need oranges, blacks, greens and purples in addition to touches of other colors to round out the design.

Each letter has its own chapter, with photos and detailed instructions. YOU WILL BE DOING THE APPLIQUE OF YOUR CHOICE: BY HAND, MACHINE, OR FUSING. I assume that you already know how to do the appliqué style of your choice, this is NOT instruction on how to do appliqué. THERE IS ALSO A GOOD DEAL OF HAND-EMBROIDERY. I enclose a video to show you how to do the main stitch that is used in this quilt, and also how to put together the patterns. All but one of the 26 patterns are either 1 or 2 pieces of 8-1/2" by 11" paper, which you can easily print at home. See the supply list at the end of this page.
